[-prɔvã'sal], Évariste, französischer Orientalist, * Algier 9. 1. 1894, ✝ Paris 25. 3. 1956; wurde 1928 Professor in Algier, 1945 in Paris. Er arbeitete besonders über die Geschichte des Islam in Spanien.
